ANDREW W.K. ON TOUR IN CANADA
Andrew W.K. says:
“It gives me overwhelming joy to return to Canada for this crazy summer party tour! I’ve had some of the greatest nights of my life in this northern land, and I expect high-times for us all! I will be playing special spontaneous solo party music, and singing with you, together in arms, towards a memory of happiness and to create energy for having fun tomorrow. It really is such a pleasure to come to Canada. Now let’s PARTY!!!”

- NEW T.V. SHOW:
Andrew W.K. will host Cartoon Network’s new heavy duty destruction and demolition competition show, “Destroy Build Destroy”. “Destroy Build Destroy” will premiere June 20th, as part of Cartoon Network’s new block of alternative live-action series. In Destroy Build Destroy, teams with the guidance and assistance of professionals, will use wrecking balls, human destroyers and real explosions to destroy something, rebuild it into something different and then destroy it again. Each week new teams face new challenges to build from the debris, with strategy, wits and teamwork determining which team’s creation out-performs the other—and whose hard work goes up in smoke. “Andrew W.K. is the perfect host for the high energy that Destroy Build Destroy brings to Cartoon Network. He embodies the fun, creativity and action that this show is about,” says Rob Swartz, vice president of original series for Cartoon Network. “I’ve never seen a television show like this one, and I get to be in the center of it all as host, coach, cheerleader and ring-leader,” said Andrew W.K. “Destroy Build Destroy incorporates imagination, competition and teamwork for a truly ground-breaking TV show. This is as good as it gets for a performer like me.”

- SPLIT RELEASE WITH NARDWUAR:
Andrew has long been a supporter of Canada’s very own, Nardwuar, and now the two have teamed up to release a split 7″! “It gives me great pleasure to announce my partnership with Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada’s The Evaporators, as we release a new split 7″ EP! It’s called, ‘A Wild Pear’, and features artwork by American cartoonist, Mitch Clem! I’m honored to be part of the this special musical moment. I’ve been a fan of Nardwuar since I first saw him on bootleg VHS copies of his Cable Access TV shows. Then I found out about The Evaporators, and I was even more blown away. I’ve recorded my own cover versions of two classic Canadian punk tunes: The Leather Uppers – ‘Don’t Sell Hot Dogs Tonight’, and Subhumans – ‘Oh Canaduh’. I love both of these songs and had an amazing time recording them. I’ve been a strong fan of the Leather Uppers since I first heard about their music from my friend Jim Magas, almost 14 years ago. Plus on the 7″, you can also get your own dose of The Evaporators, with these two songs: an original “The Bombs in My Pants” and also a cover “Oh Non” ( originally by Montreal 1960’s group Les Hou-Lops). I consider this release to be the result of a magical circle, one that started for me back in high school, while living in southeast Michigan. Having the opportunity to meet Nardwuar was a dream come true and the first time the circle connected. Getting to make this record with him is the circle coming together another time, and I’m very grateful. Out of respect for dreams coming true, I dedicate my contributions on this 7″ to Canada, Nardwuar, and my wife, Cherie Lily.” – Andrew W.K.
